About The Property
The Valle Sagrado Lodge is situated in the tiny hamlet of Yanahuara, in Cusco’s Urubamba Valley. For the Incas, the fertile Sacred Valley was the breadbasket of Cusco, with its terraced slopes sown with corn and watered by the glaciers of the great snow peaks and the river, which they worshipped as the “Wilkamayu” or “Holy River”.
Tucked away on a quiet sidestreet, the Lodge is an upscale 26 rooms hotel built in the colonial style in its own extensive grounds. Its beautiful buildings and gardens, induding a riverside and terrace restaurant, provide the perfect base for exploring the valley, and the Lodge is located just ten minutes from the train station to Machu Picchu and a scenic 90 minute drive to Cusco’s international airport.
The Valle Sagrado Lodge was developed by a consortium of Cusco entrepreneurs and opened by Christmas 2004, with the aim of providing the discerning traveller with a place for relaxation and comfort amid spectacular Andean scenery.
